Cheeky Monday, Winston Kingdom Deep in the red-light district of Amsterdam, Cheeky Monday is a thriving underground drum & bass event that features exclusive DJ sets from major players as well as the cream of the local underground. Thriving on the fact that it occurs on a day that most would generally not think to party, Cheeky Monday consistently shocks its venue and promoters with the undeniably large number of ‘cheekstars’ that flock to rock the Winston each week. Known for its high-quality range of drum & bass, friendly cosiness, good vibes and arrogant disregard to the fact the weekend has passed, Cheeky Monday bounced into existence in May 2005 and has since cut, scratched, pounded and grooved its mark into the Amsterdam drum & bass scene. It’s all happening in Amsterdam’s foremost jazz venue, the Bimhuis, which shares a spectacular glass-fronted building situated right by the waters of the IJ with the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, the city’s ‘concert hall of the 21st century’.
