Prolight + Sound 2013: Kling & Freitag launches SEQUENZA 5 line array, shows SONA speakers

Prolight + Sound marks the public debut of Kling & Freitag's new SEQUENZA 5 compact line array – and the company will also show new members of its InstallSound speaker range.

The next major initiative from Kling & Freitag is the launch of the SEQUENZA 5 compact line array, which the Hannover-based manufacturer is showing to the public for the first time at Prolight + Sound. This innovative product is suited to mobile live applications and installations, and can be flown or ground stacked. SEQUENZA 5 is the ‘little sister’ of the SEQUENZA 10, and has been acoustically designed to interact with it. The downfill adapter allows up to three units to be positioned under the SEQUENZA 10. The SEQUENZA 5 system is equipped with four 5in and three 1in neodymium drivers and it is controlled by a passive one-way control. Up to four elements may be operated on one channel of the K&F SystemRack (for installations on one TOPAS channel). Providing a low-frequency complement is the SEQUENZA 5 B fly bass, a 12in subwoofer which has been designed in compliance with the 100° x 15° coverage of the SEQUENZA 5 W. The patented ‘Snap&Fly’ rigging system has been refined and improved for application to the SEQUENZA 5. The flightcase, only available from Kling & Freitag, permits three different methods of installing and uninstalling. The latter takes just a few minutes, says the company. The integrated side and back surfaces of the fly system are discreetly hidden. Kling & Freitag’s ‘InstallSound’ range has been extended by the new SONA 6, SONA 8 and SONA Sub II products. The new wood enclosures with the SONA 5 design are equipped with a robust ball joint fastening on the rear. The flush Speakon and Phoenix ports are elegantly hidden by a cover plate. The SONA Sub II subwoofer serves as bass complement and may be operated also in 2-channel mode, thanks to its two acoustically separate 8in chassis. Optionally the models SONA Sub and SONA Sub II are available with passive frequency-separating filter, permitting cost-saving applications without additional amplifier electronics. Kling & Freitag can be found at stand F40 in Hall 8.0. www.kling-freitag.com
