The installations – in major Chinese cities – will each revolve around the DCI-2000 Digital Cinema Integrated Projection System (pictured), consisting of GDC’s SA-2100 Digital Cinema Server and Barco’s DLP Cinema Projector. The deployment of all 100 systems is expected to be completed within the next three months.
“We have a long history of working with GDC [dating] back to 2002,” said Han Sanping, chairman and CEO of CFGC. “We are more than satisfied with the reliable performance of the 700 GDC servers that are already installed in the cinemas. This new contract is just another show of our confidence in GDC as our trusted partner for digital roll-out in China.”
“We feel honoured to have won yet another major deployment contract from China Film Group,” added Dr Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC Technology. “The signing of this contract will further enhance the already high level of co-operation and partnership between GDC and CFGC. We hope to maintain this strong tie and benefit together as the digital cinema market grows in China.”
