Pro Sound Awards: more details revealed

Lobbying for the event, which will be held 19 September at Ministry of Sound, begins on 10 April – the first day of Prolight + Sound 2013.

Following the launch of the Pro Sound Awards last month, PSNEurope and other participating titles within the Intent Media group – including Installation – have been thrilled by the complimentary and encouraging responses to the news from around the professional audio industry.  The Pro Sound Awards will be held on 19 September at the world-famous Ministry of Sound nightclub in London, with some 16 different accolades handed out during the evening. There will also be a complimentary drinks reception and post-awards party. Sennheiser and DiGiCo have already signed up as headline sponsors. The awards event will celebrate excellence in Live/Touring, Studio, Broadcast and Installation audio, and is jointly-backed by leading pro-audio business titles PSNEurope, Installation, Audio Pro International and Audio Media, and supported by MI Pro and Music Week. Candidates will be invited to put forward their nominations for the Awards during a lobbying period, with the list of finalists being announced prior to the awards night. Now we can reveal more details of how the process works.
The lobbying period will open on 10 April – that’s the first day of the Prolight + Sound show in Frankfurt. From this point, all companies, services and individuals with an interest in the pro-audio industry are invited to nominate themselves, a supplier, an event or a client which they regard as deserving of wider recognition. Details of how to do that will be revealed next month. The lobbying period will stay open until Friday 31 May. Based on the email nominations, the team behind the Pro Sound Awards will create a list of finalists for each category. This process involves looking at the performance of those nominated companies over the past year, plus the information provided by the lobbying emails. We DON’T base finalist positions on the number of emails we receive about a particular company. The finalists for each category will be presented to panel of up to 100 judges from across the wide spectrum of the pro-audio industry. These judges ultimately will choose the winners of each Pro Sound Award (with the exception of the Grand Prix and Lifetime Achievement prizes which will be chosen by the Pro Sound Awards team).Award categories are: + Live/Touring SoundlEngineer of the YearlTour Sound ProductionlAfter Sales Service + StudiolEngineer of the YearlRecording Production of the YearlStudio of the Year + InstallationlTeam of the YearlPermanent Installation Project of the YearlTemporary Installation Project of the Year +Broadcast AudiolTeam of the YearlBroadcast Event of the YearlFacility of the Year + Marketing Initiative/Campaign of the Year+ Rising Star + Lifetime Achievement+ Grand Prix There are a number of partnership opportunities available.
