Niko, the specialist manufacturer of home automation and lighting systems, has won an award for its innovative new LED lighting strips and control system. The company’s RGB Controller and LED lighting strips and Connector won the prize at the The Self-Build Product Innovation Awards.

Designed to showcase the very best that UK firms have to offer, the awards are organised by the Homebuilding & Renovating brand which has kept the public informed about the latest products and services available in the market for the past 16 years.

The awards are open to any company that manufactures or supplies products or services to the building industry, and so the field for this prestigious award was very broad.

Judges from RIBA, experts in the fields of construction and leading journalists in the area of construction and technology came together to assess the entries and award the prizes.

Commenting on the award, Niko UK’s Stephen Calder said: “We were delighted to win this award – Niko’s R&D team are a very innovative and creative group of people who keep presenting us with some of the most innovative solutions available today. The new patented LED connector and the RGB controller make installing stunning and energy-saving LED lighting quick, easy and reliable.

“Winning this award is a further endorsement of the quality of this superb new LED lighting solution.”

Niko’s new LED lighting strips are supplied in 40cm lengths, which can be cut to size and connected together using the patented LED connector clips. Programming to give a range of lighting scenes – in the full pallette of colours – is easily effected using the DIN rail mountable RGB Controller.
