For those who didn’t make the trip to Frankfurt last month, PLASA Focus:Leeds provides an opportunity to see numerous new products for the first time.
Martin Audio will dedicate its stand to the UK premiere of the new CDD installation series. Combining distinctive curved enclosures with unique Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology, the series is designed to deliver class-leading performance, fidelity and coverage consistency to most install applications via six two-way full-range coaxial systems — ranging from the micro CDD5 to the powerful CDD15. These are complemented by a range of high-performance subwoofers.
Product support engineer Robin Dibble will be discussing new the patent-pending CDD technology that delivers superior coverage and performance, and demonstrate to installers how the technology behind the CDD range will have far-reaching implications.
The latest addition to Cadac’s digital family, the CDC six digital audio mixing console, is based on a further development of the advanced gesture-navigation interface developed for the flagship CDC eight. It features same high-quality audio characteristics of its larger counterpart, including very low latency. The CDC six said to offer the fastest, most intuitive user interface and highest possible audio performance of any audio mixing console.
On the Five Star Cases stand, DiGiCo’s new S21 console will be on show. Harnessing the power of QuadCore SoC, the console that delivers the power, functionality and sonic quality users have come to expect from DiGiCo, but at a compact size and an entry-level price point. “It created an incredible buzz at its launch at Prolight + Sound and we’re sure it’s going to do the same in Leeds, which will its first showing in the UK, ”says Five Star’s Keith Sykes.
Funktion-One will use its debut at PLASA Focus: Leeds to present the first UK showing of its new Evolution Series. The Evo 6 and Evo 7 are high -ntensity loudspeakers that utilise Funktion-One’s latest technology, with first users reporting remarkable coverage and performance, according to the company
The very first showing of Meyer Sound‘s new LEOPARD and 900-LFC anywhere in the UK will be at PLASA Focus: Leeds, courtesy of Pro Audio Systems, the company’s official partner for the north of England. “LEOPARD and 900-LFC are the latest members of Meyer Sound’s LEO family, and also by far the smallest and lightest, delivering extraordinary power and definition from very compact enclosures,” says Dave Simpson, PAS sales manager. “PAS is a long-term supporter of PLASA Focus and is delighted to be able to debut these important products at the show.”
Turning to the world of lighting: Avolites’ live control-focused Arena console, offering ‘more live control than ever before’, is designed for festivals, theatres and anywhere that requires a larger control surface. It combines the popular interface of the Tiger Touch II with 30 additional playback faders and expanded live control options and features. Avolites’ sales director Koy Neminathan reports a “fantastic response” to the console in Frankfurt.
Wireless LED lighting manufacturer Core Lighting will be showing its new StripPoint LED batten fixture and showcasing its tiny new PinPoint units and best-selling ColourPoint Mk2 range of wireless battery-powered up-lighters. That’s on European distributor White Light’s stand.
Finally, Eaton-Zero 88 will also be highlight its new FLX lighting console. Designed with time-saving built in, its clean, intuitive user interface offers tools such as Patch Wizard and Auto Palettes to consolidate all the prep work, leaving lighting designers, programmers and operators free to program faster and giving them more time to be creative, the company says.
