PLASA 2012: TOA unveils the IR-802 Infrared Wireless Classroom System

Visitor to Earls Court are being given a first look at this new-generation classroom communication tool.

TOA’s new Infrared Wireless Classroom System has had its grand unveiling at this year’s PLASA Show. The IR-820SP combines a 5in 2-way coaxial speaker with a built in 20W Class D power amp and 360º IR sensor ring for reliable pickup from any direction. TOA’s patented Wide-Dispersion Technology provides even coverage throughout the room (a 170º coverage angle within the vocal range when ceiling-mounted at room centre), avoiding dead spots commonly experienced with multi-speaker systems. Other products on show include TOA’s new plane wave speaker, the first look at the company’s new horn array speaker, a recently upgraded channel 38 microphones and the D-2000 system along with many more systems from the expansive TOA product range. Also exhibiting on stand 1-F28 is Trantec, TOA’s affiliate company which specialises in wireless systems. Trantec is showcasing its Racked ‘n’ Ready systems, while visitors will also have the opportunity to receive a live demonstration of the systems at work with the variety of Trantec microphones – from handhelds to lavalier.
