Philips PDS sales manager Caroline Grimes to shave head for children’s charity

Grimes is aiming to raise £3,000 for key workers at The Rainbow Trust

Philips Professional Display Solutions sales manager and NHS volunteer, Caroline Grimes, is raising money for key workers at children’s charity The Rainbow Trust by participating in a sponsored head shave.

She is aiming to raise in excess of £3,000 for key workers and families at The Rainbow Trust, which enables families who have a child with a life-threatening illness to make the most of their time together and provides expert practical and emotional support.

Grimes has already garnered great support through her JustGiving page, having already reached 50 per cent of her target.

“At a time when we’re all recognising the huge pressure that key workers, especially those caring for others, are under every single moment, I want to do all I can to make a difference,” she said. “During lockdown, I’ve been volunteering, giving my time to help those in need in my local community. I feel that our support needs to go further, though. So, I’ve decided to shave off my lovely golden locks for the Philips Professional Display Solutions UK charity of the year – the Rainbow Trust.”

Outside of her role with Philips PDS, Grimes is providing valuable support and assistance to her local community as an NHS volunteer responder during the Covid-19 crisis. Supporting the Winshill Neighbourhood Centre in Staffordshire, she helps a team of volunteers collect, pack and deliver vital food parcels – donated from local farms and supermarkets – for people self-isolating and in need during these difficult times. She is also an NHS ‘Check-in and Chat’ volunteer for the Royal Voluntary Service – one of Britain’s largest volunteer organisations – providing an invaluable resource to people that are self-isolating and in need of friendly support over the phone.

Philips Professional Display Solutions UK sales director, Martin Ware, said: “We’re immensely proud of Caroline and her incredible commitment and unselfish devotion to helping others during these very difficult and scary times. The Rainbow Trust, which we’ve selected this year as our Philips Professional Display Solutions UK team charity of the year, is incredible and we are delighted to support them and Caroline.

“On behalf of Philips Professional Display Solutions, we’d like to extend our immense gratitude and appreciation to everyone that’s helping to support vital charities, health organisations like the NHS and devoting their time in helping others. You’re all heroes in our eyes.”
