Philips PDS recruitment drive continues with appointment of Andrea Greguoldo

Greguoldo one of several significant reinforcement changes to the Philips PDS Italian management team, which also includes promotions for Simone Gagliardi and Andrea Castelnuovo

Philips Professional Display Solutions’ (PDS) ongoing recruitment drive is showing little sign of slowing, with today’s (July 22) appointment of experienced LED specialist Andrea Greguoldo as its new sales manager for the Italian market.

Based in Milan, Greguoldo brings over ten-years of pro AV experience to Philips PDS, joining from Samsung Electronics, where he spent two years in senior sales management positions, including LED project sales manager and more recently, key account manager and LED specialist. In his new role he will be responsible for driving sales and awareness of the company’s expanding range of LED solutions to the Italian market, identifying new opportunities, nurturing and maintaining existing relationships and spearheading sales and marketing strategies.

According to market forecasts, sales of LED display sales will more than double to $6.6 billion by 2023. Figures from AVIXA predict revenue from video displays, particularly direct-view LED, will see significant growth in EMEA, with this product segment forecasted to grow at 8.4 per cent in the region over the next five year.

Commenting on his appointment, Greguoldo said: “I’m delighted to be joining Philips Professional Display Solutions at such an exciting time for the company. I’ve been hugely impressed with the recent and continued growth and development of the company and its truly market leading portfolio of products and solutions, catering for a wide range of different industries. It’s a great time to join the company and I can’t wait to get started.”

Franck Racape, vice president, EMEA, added: “Andrea brings tremendous pedigree to an already successful Italian team here at Philips Professional Display Solutions and we’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead under his sales management as we continue to further grow our LED footprint in the market.”

Meanwhile, Philips PDS has also announced two additional internal changes to its Italian management team for both Simone Gagliardi and Andrea Castelnuovo.

From July 1, Simone Gagliardi, who joined the firm in 2011, moves from his position as sales director for Italy to the position of international key account director, retail. In his new role he will be tasked with building upon Philips PDS’s retail business on a European level, working closely with his team and partners to support retail projects.

Gagliardi commented: “The retail market is an incredibly important part of the Philips Professional Display Solutions business and the team have worked hard to create a market-leading, complete range of state of the art and truly innovative solutions designed exclusively to support them – whether it’s a single signage solution to help maintain social distancing, or a giant videowall that will make people stop in their tracks.”

Andrea Castelnuovo will take over the role as sales director, Italy. Castelnuovo joined the Italian sales team at Philips PDS as channel sales manager in 2016. He has played a key role in business turnaround in the country, helping to boost sales and profitability, overseeing signage distribution and major end user project and installations. He will be responsible for maintaining and continuing to improve market share for the company in Italy.

Castelnuovo commented: “Thanks to our increasingly competitive product portfolio and the innovative solutions we are introducing to the market, we have the continuing opportunity to offer our customers state of the art technology and at the same time target new vertical markets with high growth potential.

“I’m especially pleased to be entering this role at a time when we can make so much difference with the support we’re bringing for our customers and the industry in general. The market is under immense pressure and this is something we’re addressing immediately, and for the long term, with InSync – our largest-ever program designed to assist and care for our reseller partners as we move out of lockdown and beyond.”
