The ex-Tomorrow’s World presenter and, latterly, nature documentary filmmaker will host the 2010 event, which takes place on 16 April. The CEDIA Awards – which is held in association with AWE Europe, KEF Audio UK, Philips Pronto and Sonos – is now well established as a fixture of the annual CI calendar.

Wendy Griffiths, executive director of CEDIA, commented: “We are delighted to have Philippa on board to present this year’s Awards. CEDIA members are the enablers of the house of the future that visionary programmes such as Tomorrow’s World speculated about. It seems apt that she should be on hand to celebrate the achievements of those who make this vision a reality.”

The 2010 CEDIA Awards will be held at the UnderGlobe, situated beneath the reconstructed Shakespeare’s Globe on London’s Bankside. Tickets for the black-tie event, which includes a sit-down dinner and entertainment, are priced at £99 per person, or £895 for a table of 10, excluding VAT.

The full list of categories is as follows: Best media room under £15,000; Best media room over £15,000; Best home cinema installation project under £40,000 (Ä42,000 Euros); Best home cinema installation from £40,000-£100,000 (Ä42,000-Ä110,000); Best home cinema installation over £100,000 (Ä110,000); Best integrated home under £100,000 (Ä110,000); Best integrated home from £100,000-£250,000 (Ä110,000-Ä270,000); Best integrated home over £250,000 (Ä270,000); Best integrated solution for a multi-dwelling development; Best dressed rack; Best marine; Best innovative solution – residential; Best trade supplier; Best training initiative by a trade supplier; and Industry lifetime achievement award.

CEDIA members will be invited to make their nominations for the Industry Lifetime Achievement award and to vote for the trade supplier categories via a postal and email poll. The Trade Supplier categories are open to all CEDIA members and recognise the top manufacturer or distributor in the industry for standards of service, support, product innovations and training provided to members.

The CEDIA Awards are open only to CEDIA member companies. For more details, click on the first link below; to purchase tickets, click on the second link.
