NuVo Technologies has revealed details of an update to its iPhone/iPad app that offers improved suitability for the iPad’s screen size. It also gave away three B.C. Rich guitars to three lucky winners on the three days of the show.

NuVo Technologies has revealed details of an update to its iPhone/iPad app that offers improved suitability for the iPad’s screen size. It also gave away three B.C. Rich guitars to three lucky winners on the three days of the show.

Speaking to The ISE Daily, marketing manager Desiree Webster said that the update heralded the arrival of a search function.

“That was something that people wanted and it was fairly easy to add,” remarked Webster.

Among other developments, NuVo has also announced Spotify streaming support for its Music Port music management products and the availability of “upper-level” displays for its Essentia system.

Elsewhere, like sister product the Music Port (MPS4), which began shipping early in 2010, the Music Port Elite (MPS4-E) consolidates, organises, stores and distributes internet and PC-based audio content from Windows Media Player and iTunes, while also accessing streaming audio from a variety of Internet services, all in one compact component that offers four simultaneous audio outputs.

Elite offers additional features including: cloud synchronisation function, allowing a user’s library of audio content to be readily available from multiple locations; streaming content directly from network-attached storage, creating ‘infinite capacity’; scheduling ability so that selected music can play at a pre-arranged day/time; and IP control protocol that enables pre-built Crestron, AMX and URC control integration.

The Music Port Elite is compatible with NuVo’s Grand Concerto, Renovia and Essentia E6G, as well as with third party systems.

Finally, Radiohead once suggested that anyone can play guitar, a notion that NuVo Technologies tested to destruction with its daily guitar giveaway. Pictured is Tuesday’s winner of the B.C. Rich guitar, Neil Badcock (left) of UK home automation specialist Jetset, with NuVo’s Desirée Webster and Steve Horton.
