InfoComm has also hired additional staff to represent its European membership. Formerly employed by PSAV as director of event technology for the Maybourne Hotel Group, Christopher Lavelle has taken up the position of UK regional manager. Sarah Carless – a previous employee of 3Com and Siemens Network Systems – has been appointed to the role of European programme co-ordinator, while Godwin Demicoli has been promoted to regional director, Europe, having been a European representative for InfoComm since 2004.
Terry Friesenborg (pictured), InfoComm senior vice-president, international development, told II: “Opening a European headquarters sets the stage for increased membership activities in Europe. Member Roundtables in cities across the continent will allow European members to network and discuss emerging industry issues. The office also provides an important home base for activities to enhance InfoComm’s education curricula with appropriate regional terminology and ways of doing business.”
