New for ISE 2012: Technical Tour of the Dutch National Maritime Museum

On the afternoon of Monday 30 January, Integrated Systems Europe will sponsor a Technical Tour of Het Scheepvaartmuseum – the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam.

On the afternoon of Monday 30 January, Integrated Systems Europe will sponsor a Technical Tour of Het Scheepvaartmuseum – the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam. A unique opportunity to see behind the scenes at a state-of-the-art multimedia installation, the Tour is being organised in association with AV Trade, Rapenburg Plaza and ISE exhibitor Dataton. The focus of the Tour will be ‘Voyage at Sea’ – a five-room, 20-minute immersive walk-through cinematic experience in which visitors are taken on a journey through five centuries of Dutch maritime history. The centrepiece of ‘Voyage at Sea’ is a 360-degree, oval-shaped projection which uses ten edge-blended projectors with wide-angle lenses, along with ‘snap-on’ cartridges custom-designed by Rapenburg Plaza for additional image filtering. The content for the movie served by PCs running Dataton’s WATCHOUT timeline-based multi-display software. Rapenburg Plaza, a renowned Dutch systems integrator, was responsible for designing and installing display, audio, lighting control and show control infrastructure for the entire museum, which was officially reopened by the Queen of the Netherlands in October 2011. Rutger van Dijk and Sierk Janszen, multimedia specialists and Rapenburg Plaza partners, will host the ISE Technical Tour. Part of the ‘Integration in Action’ series of ISE show features, demonstrations and other events, the ISE Technical Tour will depart from the Amsterdam RAI at 14:30 on Monday 30 January. Once at the museum, guests will be able to experience the whole of ‘Voyage at Sea’ as well as encounter other areas of the museum, and can ask technical questions of the hosts. Tour participants will be taken back to the RAI in plenty of time for the ISE Keynote Address and Opening Reception at 18:00. There is no cost associated with joining the Tour, but places are strictly limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here to find out more about the multimedia installation at Het Scheepvaartmuseum.Integrated Systems Europe advises that due to an overwhelming response, the limited places on this tour have now been filled. Thank you for your interest in this Amsterdam project!
