A new Bosch active line array promises high levels of acoustical performance, as well as fast configuration.
Designed for challenging acoustic environments such as transportation hubs and houses of worship, Bosch’s new Vari-directional Array uses active beam steering to provide precise, even sound distribution over a range of up to 50m.
Available in three different variants (a base model, plus one or two extension units), the array can be readily configured with easy-to-use software, which draws on a database of pre-programmed room settings. The installer simply enters the key parameters – including room dimensions, the angle of floor rake, the distance of the audience from the array, and whether the audience are standing, sitting or kneeling – and the software adjusts the beam pattern accordingly.
The array is compatible with Bosch’s voice evacuation systems, such as Praesideo. All amplifier and loudspeaker components are fully supervised, faults are logged and a 24V back-up power supply can be connected.
The Vari-directional Array can be used indoors or out, and are suitable for wall-mounting (from brackets that turn through 80ยบ) or flush-mounting. Different finishes are available, and the units can also be painted.
