MultiTouch, developer of modular multi-touch LCD screens for large-scale displays, has announced the opening of its new headquarters facility, located in the historic former Ford Motor Company building on the Helsinki harbourside.

The 20,000-square foot building features forty-five foot ceilings with full windows, and a substantial first-floor design and research area. The second floor features a portal-styled corridor for executive offices and briefing rooms, as well as a custom-configured showroom for clients. A 3,000-square foot sound stage is also available for staging installations and developing new concepts for multitouch wall designs.

MultiTouch also held its first annual global partner summit in its new showroom. Presentations included product and technology previews from Petri Martikainen, CEO of MultiTouch (pictured); Hannu Anttila, vice president of sales; Tommi Ilmonen, CTO, and Timo Korpela, general manager of MultiTouch Americas, and customer presentations from firms including Bellprat, Intuilab, and uma, among others.

“Henry Ford came to Finland to make cars in this building; we are now making multitouch displays for the world in this building,” said Martikainen. “We are fortunate to have such a prestigious landmark edifice for this next phase of our company. The inspirational value of our location is incalculable, and we anticipate even greater innovation from our team as a result.”
