Meeting growing demand: LifeSize expands in India

Shiva joins LifeSize from PLUS Business Machines in Mumbai where, as a LifeSize channel partner, he was instrumental in selling and implementing the first high definition video communications systems in the country. As one of two initial LifeSize channel partners in India, PLUS has centered its efforts on the engineering and high-tech sectors which have led to a number of early high definition video communications adopters, as well as strong interest from other developing and established organizations in the areas of education, entertainment and government.

“We have a long-standing commitment to expanding our presence in India as it represents a top emerging market for LifeSize and high definition video communications,” says Craig Malloy, CEO of LifeSize. “The addition of Shiva to our existing India operations will be a tremendous uplift in the level of support we provide our channel partners so they are even more successful when promoting LifeSize products.”

In August 2006 LifeSize established the LifeSize Bangalore Design Center to focus on software development and contribute to engineering efforts across the company’s product line. Project teams in Bangalore and LifeSize’s headquarters in Austin, TX closely collaborate on a daily basis using LifeSize high definition video communications systems. LifeSize continues to add personnel to its design center operations for fostering new and ongoing engineering initiatives.

“It is with great pleasure that I join such a progressive company where I can apply my over 21 years of experience working in the technology sectors in India to further grow LifeSize’s footprint in this market,” says K Shivasankar. “LifeSize has tremendous opportunity in an untapped arena where organisations are actively seeking new and better ways for leveraging innovative technology that can have a strong impact on their business practices.”
