macom international opens new office in Dubai

The new operation will enhance the AV consultancy's ability to cater to clients in the Middle East.

The new operation will enhance the AV consultancy’s ability to cater to clients in the Middle East. Along with the new Dubai office, the company has also announced the appointment of Jamal Al Ashby to serve as regional business development manager for macom international communications consulting engineers FZE.

The creation of the Dubai office came about in response to current projects and an “overwhelming number of enquiries from the Middle East market”.

“Some might wonder why we hold on to our plan to expand our business to Dubai when hearing and reading all the news about the crises,” said macom international MD Norbert Hoenig (pictured). “But we strongly believe that Dubai is still one of the most inspiring places in the Middle East market and we definitely look forward to continuing with our businesses in such an energetic environment. We will never forget how friendly Dubai welcomed us and we are very grateful for our loyal clients, partners and friends who supported us in our endeavour to enter this new market. We finally have established a local presence and we will continue to intensify our local business relationships over the coming years. No matter what other people may say or speculate during such difficult times, we will not turn our back on Dubai nor on our loyal clients.”

The official opening ceremony will take place on 25 January at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel – one of macom international’s first projects in the Middle East. A company spokesperson told II that other recent commitments have included three projects in Doha – the Taj Exotica Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel and Rotana Airport Hotel.

Regarding the appointment of Al Ashby, Hoenig said that he had “the knowledge, expertise, contacts and dedication to help us expand our local business and to establish a successful strategic presence in Dubai. It has always been our priority to employ highly qualified and success-oriented engineers and consultants. The appointment of Mr Ashby will allow us to effectively extend our audiovisual consulting and planning services to new markets, to reach new strategic milestones and to strengthen our presence in the local market.”
