LG Display launches world’s first 84in UD LCD for interactive whiteboards

Mass production of the world's first 84in UD LCD Ultra Definition display for interactive whiteboards is underway. The LG Display device is the largest of its kind measuring 1.9 x 1.1m (6.2 x 3.7ft), with it able to produce a maximum brightness of 350 nit.

LG Display has announced that it has begun mass production of the world’s first 84in Ultra Definition (UD) LCD displays for interactive whiteboards.

At 1.9 x 1.1m, (6 x 3.7ft) LG Display’s new 84in UD panel for interactive whiteboards measures as the largest LCD product of its kind. In addition, the display is 3.5 times brighter than existing projector-type interactive whiteboards, with its maximum brightness reaching 350 nit; and a UD resolution of 3840 x 2160 (about 8.3 million pixels), eight times the image quality of current HD projectors.

What’s more LG Display’s new display is able to integrate touch functionality allowing users to annotate directly on the screen, without the need for a separate touch-enabled whiteboard screen.

The display lso comes with the option of being equipped with LG Display’s industry-acclaimed Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) 3D technology featuring wide viewing angles and inexpensive glasses.
