Electrium Sales – which is the UK consumer electronics division of Siemens AG – will re-sell JSJS Designs home automation products under the Siemens brand exclusively into the Kingfisher Group.

The agreement will run initially for three years, with an option to extend. ‘Significant’ royalty fees will be payable on licnesed JSJ products, including an advance of £300,000 upon receipt of the first order from Kingfisher Group.

Europe’s third leading home improvement retailer and the third largest in the world, Kingfisher is home to brands including B&Q, Screwfix and Castorama.

The products in the deal – which include light switches, dimmers and mains power sockets – are based on JSJS’ LightwaveRF technology and are designed for consumers seeking to retro-fit smart home technologies.

John Shermer (pictured), chief executive of JSJS, commented: “Today’s landmark agreement represents a major endorsement of the company’s technology from a global giant that has the world’s leading building management systems, EIB – bus, and probably the best known home control technology in the KNX system.

“The company believes today’s agreement, that encompasses both Siemens AG and the Kingfisher Group, validates both the technology and its commercial potential, and will enable JSJS to attract other leading buyers to its LightwaveRF technology.”
