PlexusAV is launching an AVoIP product ecosystem based on IPMX, an open standards-based set of protocols based on SMPTE ST 2110 production workflows.
The new P-AVN-4 4K transceiver is an independent encoder and decoder for JPEG XS and the compression and decompression of video, with very low latency and 4K quality.
The company is also showcasing two new software platforms. One is the Visual Array, a management and control platform that can track multiple devices, push updates, route streams between encoders and decoders and more. The other is the Stream Conversion Gateway, which is able to convert other protocols into IPMX and vice versa.
“We’re promoting IPMX as a protocol that’s going to be the next big thing for the AvoIP industry,” said Aaron Doughten, director of technology for PlexusAV. “We’re excited to see IPMX really explode this year in terms of adoption. There’s some big names getting involved and they’ll have native support built into their products. We’ve got this foundational technology now and it’s going to drive innovation.”
