ISE 2025’s expansive new features: connection restored

Mike Blackman, managing director, Integrated Systems Events, on plans for the 21st edition of AV’s premier show

With ISE 2025 just around the corner, it’s great to be able to share our plans for a bigger, bolder experience that truly captures the dynamism of the AV and systems integration community. This year, the show is bigger than ever with the addition of hall 8.1, offering even more exclusive product launches from both leading brands and boutique specialists.

Our reimagined and more extensive content programme, which has been curated jointly between AVIXA, CEDIA and ISE, is designed to provide unparalleled value. The new Content Day Passes grant access to each day’s vertical market summits and five content tracks, that have been introduced to complement the summit programme. From Tuesday to Thursday, experts will lead sessions on five key industry megatrends identified by ISE as critical areas of focus: AI, audio, cybersecurity, retail, and sustainability. Additionally, there are free-to-attend sessions on our show floor stages, including the new Live Events Stage, ensuring that there is something for everyone.

This year we are also placing a renewed focus on startups and investment with the new Innovation Park and Pitching Stage. This is an exciting opportunity for emerging companies to showcase their innovations and for investors to discover the next big thing in AV technology.

We now have three entrance points to access the show floor, the north, south and east access points will all be open. And the show’s expanded footprint means that the North Access is an attractive entry point if you’re visiting hall 8.0 with the audio demo rooms, hall 8.1, or halls 6 and 7. Here, you’ll find exciting features such as the new Esports Arena and the reinvented Drone and Robotics Arena.

ISE 2025 also brings two stellar keynote speakers to the stage. Our Opening Keynote will be delivered by globally acclaimed digital analyst, author and visionary Brian Solis who will take the stage at 13:00 on Tuesday, 4 February. Known for his profound insights into the intersection of technology, business and culture, Brian will share his vision of how the pro AV and systems integration industry can change and innovate through the latest developments in AI.

The following day, our Creative Keynote is the exciting Italian digital artist Quayola, who will discuss how AV technology enables him to realise his creative vision. He will be giving fascinating insights into his groundbreaking projects, including the mesmerising ‘Arborescent’ projection mapping experience on Casa Batlló, which takes place on 1 and 2 February as the next edition of ISE kicks off.

Celebrated for his pioneering fusion of technology and art, I’m really pleased to announce that Quayola will also deliver a special artwork on Tuesday, 4 February, on the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via’s award-winning south access welcome screen, providing another chance to witness his extraordinary creative talents.

MAJOR TRANSFORMATIONS
Each ISE brings its own unique flavour, marked by significant transformations over the years. The transition from Amsterdam to Barcelona was a monumental shift, driven by the show’s expanding scale and future requirements. However, even minor adjustments, such as refining the badge collection process and opening more entrance/exits, can significantly enhance the attendee experience by reducing entry queues and reducing the time it takes to get on to the show floor. A key strength of ISE is its commitment to continuous improvement and this approach ensures that the event evolves annually, effectively accommodating the increasing number of visitors and exhibitors while remaining fresh and pertinent in the rapidly evolving technology sector.

Whether this is your first ISE, or you’ve been attending for years, there’s always something new to discover. Exciting new features promise to bring an extra buzz to the 2025 show, including a show floor Live Events Stage in hall 6. The ISE Live Events Summit will change to a free-to-attend series of content live on the show floor in hall 6.

LIVE ESPORTS
And as the boom in esports creates opportunities for the AV community, we have created an Esports Arena. Taking up residence in hall 8.1, it will showcase the exciting possibilities for AV in this fast-growing sector. This 800sqm space will be a showcase for the integration of AV technology and will host a live esports tournament. It will also host discussions on technology leadership and technical education.

As part of our heightened focus on innovation, startups, and entrepreneurship, the show will debut its first-ever ISE Hackathon. Over two intensive days, student teams will collaborate at Fira to address three real-world challenges in sustainability, innovation, and cybersecurity. Working alongside industry and education professionals, they’ll develop creative solutions.

Additionally, throughout the entire week of ISE 2025 (Monday to Saturday), exciting new guided tours will provide behind-the-scenes access to some of Barcelona’s most remarkable AV installations.

Barcelona is a lively and dynamic city, celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality. We encourage all attendees to take the opportunity to explore and enjoy the city’s many attractions, while exercising the same level of caution you would in any major city.

In partnership with local authorities, we are committed to ensuring the event maintains the highest standards of safety and security, which we recognise is a top priority for attendees. We want to assure you that every necessary precaution has been taken. Our aim is to deliver a positive experience for all and we are confident the measures in place will help us achieve this.

Attendees of ISE 2025 will have the unique opportunity to experience another stunning projection mapping on the iconic Casa Batlló at the start of the week. This mesmerising display brings the building to life with stunning visuals and light effects. Additionally, ISE is proud to once again sponsor the BCN Llum festival of light, celebrating the city’s vibrant culture through a series of captivating light installations and performances. This sponsorship underscores ISE’s commitment to supporting the lighting and architectural lighting communities, making it a must-attend event.

The ISE team is working hard to ensure that this year’s show is an unforgettable experience, offering a wealth of knowledge, networking opportunities and innovative showcases. We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be our most exciting event yet.
