Futuresource produces report analysing main ISE 2025 trends

UK-based research firm Futuresource Consulting had 16 analysts at the Fira, and they focused on three major themes – AI, convergence of pro AV and broadcast, and smart spaces

Futuresource Consulting, which had 16 analysts working on ISE 2025, has published its post-show report. The analysis, across 40 slides, is divided into three major themes, concerning AI, the convergence of pro AV and broadcast, and smart spaces.

Chris McIntyre-Brown managing director, Futuresource, said: “This report provides a snapshot of the key themes and talking points across the show for Futuresource clients and partners. It is not intended to be an exhaustive summary of the products and services showcased by the exhibitors and numerous presentations at Integrated Systems Europe 2025.”

He added: “ISE 2025 has once again delivered an exceptional showcase of innovation, networking, and industry collaboration. Congratulations to Mike Blackman, the ISE team, and AVIXA for putting on another outstanding event, which continues to grow in scope and influence.”

The report analyses three categories of fundamental change.

1. AI – Less hype, more substance:
McIntyre-Brown said: “Following the overuse of AI as a marketing buzzword in previous years, ISE 2025 showed a notable shift towards real-world applications. AI was less prominent in branding but more integrated into workflows, particularly in automation, content management, and AV analytics. Rather than speculative discussions about AI’s future impact, the focus has now turned to practical deployments that enhance efficiency and user experience.”

2. The continued convergence of pro AV & broadcast:
McIntyre-Brown said: “The blurring of lines between broadcast and pro AV has been a discussion point for some time, but this year it was more evident than ever. With the increasing democratisation of video production, enterprises are adopting high-quality video workflows that were once the domain of traditional broadcasters.”

This is being driven by:

• A generational shift, with younger professionals expecting high-production video tools in workplace environments.
• The continued rise of video as a key communication tool across corporate and education sectors.
• More broadcast-centric exhibitors entering ISE, reflecting growing demand for professional-grade production tools within pro AV spaces.

3. Smart spaces – A tipping point for the industry
McIntyre-Brown said: “For years, the concept of smart spaces has been a forward-looking discussion, but this year, it became tangible. Across the show floor, we saw clear examples of environments that adapt dynamically to usage patterns, with integrated analytics driving operational efficiencies. As technology providers move beyond product sales into service monetisation, we are witnessing the shift towards subscription models and AI-driven automation that unlock new revenue opportunities.”

He concluded: “As we reflect on ISE 2025, it is clear that we are in a transformative moment for the industry. AI is becoming practical, smart spaces are now a commercial reality, and video workflows are reshaping professional environments. This report provides a snapshot of the key themes and technology developments observed at the show and their implications for the future of pro AV. “
