Beam steering for the rest of us

OmniBeam aims to give integrators great results regardless of their level of expertise

With its new OmniBeam, Renkus-Heinz is hoping to change perceptions around beam steering.  It hopes to show that beam steering doesn’t need to be time-intensive or limited to niche applications, and that it can be suitable for more venues than just reverberant spaces.

Aiming to save consultants and integrators time, the company says its new algorithm uses decades of expertise in steerable technology to deliver sound and coverage for 100% of venues

OmniBeam’s algorithm generates ideal FIR coefficients for individual venues to provide custom-tailored coverage, dialling into the exact geometry of a space to provide a consistent front-to-back audio experience.

By “taking the rocket science out of simulating and commissioning steerable arrays”, Renkus-Heinz says it is as simple to deploy as point-and-shoot loudspeakers, requiring less time and knowledge to set up than before.
