
He also announced that while next year’s ISE 2014 will take place as previously announced from 4-6 February, the show will move to the second week of February from 2015. “After our first show in Geneva, we discussed our options with various cities and settled on Amsterdam. We’ve had no regrets, it’s central to the markets in Europe,” said Blackman. “The extension of our contract with the RAI shows that we are fully committed to this location. It gives security to our industry to have a venue that works for us, long-term. It also gives exhibitors, press and attendees a chance to plan ahead.” Pre-opening numbers indicated that more than 200 new exhibitors out of nearly 900 exhibitors were new and that 25% of 40,000 pre-registrants are attending ISE for the first time. “It’s not just what you saw last year,” concluded Blackman. “There are new products and solutions for you to experience at this show and we are bringing new people to this market and to the show.”
