ISE People: Kiat Huang, AV Technology & Partner Manager, Google

Kiat Huang is currently the AV team's partner manager and product owner at Google. At ISE 2013, Kiat will join an end-user panel at the InfoComm Future Trends Summit, presenting Part 1: Future Customer Needs.

InfoComm International will host its one-day Future Trends Summit on Monday 28 January, the day before the ISE 2013 show floor opens. This year’s Summit, the third to be held on the eve of ISE, will be divided into three fresh and distinct segments, with presentations and panelists from a range of sectors including corporate, education and healthcare. Running from 1100-1730, the Summit will take place at the Amsterdam RAI.

While other events deep-dive into a particular aspect of technology or a particular application, the Future Trends Summit looks at the whole of the industry from a number of different viewpoints – consultant, integrator, end customer and so on.

Alongside Mark Large (Director of IT, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children) and Simon Birkett (Technology Enhanced Learning Manager, University of Derby), Kiat will outline cutting-edge uses of AV technologies in his sector, provide perspective on where need/demand is heading in his industry as a whole, and share with us a sneak peak of future AV decisions he is considering in the coming years.

“Google has a deep interest in AV systems – we develop and use AV extensively throughout the company to benefit our employees and partners,” Kiat comments.

“The Google AV group purchases, develops, integrates and supports AV systems to power our in-house solutions including Video Conferencing, Tech Talks, Digital Signage and showcase Partner Plexes. Google has built one of the world’s largest Video Conferencing networks based on Google Hangout infrastructure. We engage OEMs and Integrators to help us innovate, build and scale.

At the Future Trends Summit, hear Google’s experiences of the challenges and successes of innovating AV, the technologies we invest in and the trends we see in collaboration, interactivity, cloud, mobile integration and hardware.”

For the past five years, Kiat has led AV and IT teams including software development, deployments and support. He has 12 years of operational and management experience at Google, Red Hat and Oxford University.
