How many times have you attended ISE, and in what capacity?
I have attended ISE for many years, and for the past three I’ve done so as head of Sony Europe’s Professional Displays & Solutions division – a role in which the event takes on a much more strategic dimension. During this period, the show has become a key platform for presenting our vision, strengthening partnerships, and understanding first-hand where the professional market is heading. For me, ISE has always been a market barometer and a strategic meeting point for partners, integrators, and end customers.
Overall, how was ISE 2026 for you?
ISE 2026 has been particularly significant for us because it coincided with one of Sony’s most powerful innovation cycles in recent years. At this show, we introduced 16 new professional BRAVIA models, including the new BZP series, which strengthens our range with improvements in image quality, energy efficiency, and sustainability. We also presented two new mid-range dvLED models, the Crystal LED S series, designed for corporate, educational, and retail environments. The joint launch of this series and the BRAVIA BZ-P series represents a strategic move to bridge the gap between our BRAVIA professional displays and dvLED products, helping us to meet an even wider range of customer needs while providing them with the consistency they seek.
Another key announcement was the firmware updates for our PTZ cameras, bringing AI enhancements, new framing modes, and greater operational flexibility to the SRGA40/A12 and BRCAM7 models.
Finally, we showcased for the first time the complete workflow of our collaboration with Ameria to deliver a glasses-free immersive 3D display system, combining our Spatial Reality Display with Ameria’s StarKit – one of the first gesture-controlled immersive 3D display solutions.
Numbers were up again, so how was footfall for you, and what about the quality of leads?
The increase in visitors was clearly reflected at our stand. Attendance was very high, but what stood out most was the quality of the visitors: highly specialised profiles, decision-makers, and specific projects under way. It wasn’t just about technological curiosity, but rather in-depth conversations about integration, scalability, and return on investment. In terms of generating opportunities, it has been one of the best editions in recent years.
Did you engage with the ISE Daily, either by reading it or by contributing editorially or promotionally?
Yes, we actively collaborated with ISE Daily. We consider it a strategic media outlet because it helps contextualise innovations and highlight the trends that are shaping the sector. We contribute both editorial content and information about our latest developments. We also consult it daily during the fair to keep up with the event and see how the different areas of the market are moving.
Did you nominate any of your products for the Best of Show awards? If not, do you have a particular reason?
This year, we decided to enter only two categories, and I am proud to say that we won both. In the Installation category, the new Sony BRAVIA BZ40 P was recognised with the Best of Show Award, a distinction that highlights the work behind this new generation of professional displays. And in the AV Technology category, we also won, thanks to the Sony x Ameria Touchfree 3D with SRD solution, which demonstrates the potential of our proposals for immersive experiences and new forms of interaction.
For us, these recognitions are confirmation that we are moving in the right direction – solutions that combine real innovation, practical utility, and a clear vision of the future of the professional market.
Is there anything you’d like to see improved at ISE in 2027?
I’d like to see ISE 2027 place an even stronger emphasis on sustainability, as the industry is moving rapidly toward more energy-efficient products, recycled materials, and lower-impact logistics. The show has already taken meaningful steps, but there is still room to go further in helping exhibitors reduce their environmental footprint – from stand construction to waste management and transport. A clearer, more visible sustainability framework would benefit everyone and reflect where the AV market is heading.
At the same time, I believe the event could have an even greater impact by attracting more end users. Their presence enriches the conversations at the trade show, directly integrating real-world needs, challenges, and expectations. When decision-makers and end users participate in the discussion, projects move faster, solutions are evaluated more effectively, and the connection between innovation and practical application is significantly strengthened. Promoting initiatives aimed at attracting wider audiences to ISE would make the trade show even more valuable to the entire ecosystem.
