InstallFutures: More names added to speaker lineup

Matthew Thompson, head of AV at The Royal College of Surgeons, joins the final session of the day – End-User Panel: The Way Forward.

InstallFutures, a new one-day conference from Installation taking place at Bafta on 29 September, will now feature Matthew Thomas, head of AV at The Royal College of Surgeons, on the End-User Panel: The Way Forward.

Thomas began his professional career with Conference Craft, providing conference AV in the UK and Europe. Following a contract placement at The Royal College of Surgeons he was offered a permanent job in 2001.

In 2004, he took on all multimedia responsibilities as senior engineer and was promoted to head of AV in 2008. In 2014 he was listed in the top 100 most influential people in the AV industry and is a member of the AV User Group and AV Cultural Forum.

The RCS AV team has progressed to embrace the requirements of the modern end user; deploying tapeless media, videoconferencing, unified communications, webcasting, distance learning and more. He will draw on this experience as part of the end-user panel, which will discuss how technology will affect their futures, how they expect their business to be different in 2020 and how they are preparing for these changes. This session will run from 3.20-4.10. The full schedule for the day is available here.

Other confirmed speakers include Studer CTO Peter Glaettli, Stampede president and COO, Kevin Kelly, and Roland Dreesden of Reflex AV.
