One of the new categories featured in this year’s InstallAwards is Hospitality, it covers installations in hotels, bars, clubs and restaurants, here we look at the projects that have been shortlisted for the Best Project Award.
For the best project award we will be looking for evidence of as many of the following as possible:
– Technical innovation
– Elegant design – technical or aesthetic
– Meeting or exceeding the client brief
– Expansion capability/futureproofing.
Avalon Hollywood – Powersoft M-Force technology
The subwoofer system installed in this nightclub is an advanced system tailored to the lower frequency range while producing a cleaner and clearer sound.
Owner John Lyons wanted to install a system that surpassed all others, particularly in the lower frequency range which clubgoers are particularly sensitive to. Lyons, EAW and Powersoft collaborated to install what is claimed to be the world’s largest subwoofer system, which comprised six subwoofer cabinets with 40in Powersoft cones, and the result of recent advancements in electro acoustics.
Oliveto Restaurant and Café – Meyer Sound
The active and passive acoustics from Meyer Sound create a precisely calibrated acoustic environment within the restaurant.
Oliveto Restaurant and Café has achieved an ideal sound ambience for hospitality with the recent installation of Meyer Sound active and passive acoustic technologies. Meyer Sound designed and calibrated its Constellation acoustic system to work with its Libra acoustic image system.
Quaglinos – K-array Kobra/KK Series
The restaurant installed an invisible audio system for background music, live music and DJs, which also needed to solve the acoustic challenges that the old system struggled with.
The areas covered included reception, two private dining rooms, a bar, restaurant and all stage audio equipment. It was essential that all areas were linked so all audio sources could be routed to each area individually.
