InfoComm International has announced a series of educational events – including a webinar – for the UK professional AV community in the month of April.
On Thursday 14 April, InfoComm will host the latest in its series of Academy Days, at the Royal Society of Medicine at Chandos House, London. Utilising a slightly modified format from previous such events, the day will feature four (as opposed to the previous three) 90-minute seminars – all delivered by industry leaders and all qualifying for CTS renewal units. Sponsored by the Royal Society of Medicine and Kramer, the day will cost non-members £60 to attend, reducing to £40 for members or £20 if members use InfoComm EduBucks.
Topics to be covered during the Academy Day are:
- Digital Signal Management (presented by Mike Roberts and Nick Mawer of Kramer);
- Technology Trends in Electronic Displays (Bob Simpson of Electrosonic);
- Designing Interactive Displays for Public Spaces (Paul Wood of Paradigm); and
- Opening Doors to the SME Business Sector – The British Government’s New Procurement Initiatives for Government Contacts (Paul Nolan, Integrated Circles).
There will be Q&A sessions after each seminar, and the day’s programme will include a welcome tea-and-coffee reception and lunch, ending with a relaxed drinks reception for further debate, networking and socialising.
The Academy Day will be immediately preceded on Wednesday 13 April by the first of InfoComm’s Regional Webinar series for the UK. Delivered by Roland Hemming of RH Consulting, the Webinar will be titled ‘Sound Systems For Emergency Purposes’. The one-hour session will begin at 12 midday and registration will be completely free.
The session is one of a series of Regional Webinars which InfoComm International is launching this year. Similar sessions are being hosted this spring in Germany, Hong Kong and India, with more to follow later in the year.
Finally, at PLASA Focus on 19 and 20 April, InfoComm will be exhibiting on Stand RA-E10 at the Royal Armouries, Leeds. At 12 midday on 20 April, Andrew Littlewood of Martin Dawes Solutions will be presenting an InfoComm Academy session on ‘Realising the Value of Project Management’. Show and seminar registration are both free, and the session will again qualify attendees for CTS RUs.
