InfoComm 2011 attracts 33,001

This year’s edition was the second largest commercial AV show ever held and the largest event InfoComm has staged in Orlando.

Taking place between 15 and 17 June, InfoComm 2011 attracted 33,001 AV professionals from more than 90 countries. A total of 925 exhibitors occupied more than 475,000 net square feet of exhibition and special events space.

Away from the showfloor, registrations for InfoComm Academy educational courses totalled 6,000. ‘Super Tuesday’ – a full day of advanced instruction – attracted 572 registrants, while the Institute of Professional Development garnered 473 registrants. More than 4,600 attended seminars and workshops.

This year, in a new record, 88 AV professionals passed the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) exam onsite. Twelve passed the CTS-D and four passed the CTS-I.

InfoComm also released its Sustainable Technology Environments Program with CompTIA and a new projected image standard.
