Imago grows 34%

The economic downturn has generally been positive for the videoconferencing business and this, together with the company's regional diversification, has seen Imago grow strongly.

UK videoconferencing and unified communications distributor Imago has seen its revenues grow to £52 million – a 34% increase over the previous year.

“Video conferencing sales are good across all the regions in which we operate,” said Ian Vickerage, managing director, Imago (pictured). “Because of the recession, customers are working with smaller budgets, but many see both the short and long-term benefits of investing in video conferencing which is why this market has continued to grow strongly.”

Imago has subsidiaries in France, Spain, Belgium, Holland, South Africa and China: the company said that the strongest performing territories were France and Spain.

“When we announced our financial results at the beginning of the year, I anticipated then that the gap between our overseas and UK sales would grow and the latest figures bear this out,” continued Ian Vickerage. “Although our sales and profits in the UK grew strongly, our overseas business in general has been stronger than domestic business. We will continue to focus on expanding internationally in the year ahead.”
