Image, Sound and Connectivity: why the systems integrator will never be out of work

InfoComm class to outline the growing need for purpose-built collaboration spaces

Over the past five years there has been a growing concern that the convergence of AV and IT heralds a potential decline in the AV integration market. Convergence does mean IT departments have much greater steer on what happens where. However, it also means project management and integration become more essential than ever.

In his InfoComm session at ISE’s Education Zone on Tuesday 31 January, John Lockwood, CTS-D, Senior Systems Design Engineer of Verrex, will discuss trends in office space design from over the last two years with interior architects to argue that, although the technology is evolving, the need for purposefully-built collaboration spaces, and their integrators, is on the rise.

An experienced systems professional with broad career accomplishments in the AV, conferencing and IT sectors, John Lockwood is responsible for advanced audio, video and control systems design, including performing needs analysis; developing design concepts; translating concepts into schematic drawings; conducting equipment research; and ensuring the integrity of Verrex-designed systems.

He is well regarded for his responsiveness to the architect and space-planner communities, enhancing Verrex’s phased-drawing approach to best address their specific agendas and those of their clients.
