At IBC 2012 Canford announced the introduction of a new e-catalogue facility – entitled the ŒTHE e-Source – as well as multiple new distribution partnerships with manufacturers. The e-Source will provide customers with both a website and a paper catalogue. It permits the user to create and post orders and to download and print individual pages and sections of The Source, Canford’s 1500 plus page catalogue The company has also penned a distribution deal with DSMB Technology to become exclusive UK distributor for the re-launched DSMB Balbox product range. The Balbox range incorporates Stand Alone 3G/HD/SD – SDI, Audio and Fibre Distribution Amplifiers, Embedders/Extractors and Multi-Format Converters, with the range now being manufactured in DSMB’s Newbury facilitiy in the UK. All Balbox products have built-in PSU’s and most include illuminated BNC connectors which give valuable status indication. Canford will also be stocking DSMB’s passive range of Hum Eliminators, Isolation Transformers and Splitters. A further partnership has been forged with AFP (Advanced Fiber Products), which will see AFP’s range of rugged active and passive fibre optic products distributed across more than 120 countries through Canford’s channels in the broadcast and professional audio sectors. AFP range includes extenders, 3G/HD-SDI, DVI & HDMI video converters and distribution amplifiers and ultra rugged fibre couplers for harsh conditions as might be found on an outside broadcast. Finally, Canford has launched a new range of pre-configured racks and enclosures under its Enclosure Systems brand at IBC. Canford recently acquired the Enclosure Systems brand which is already well known in the data systems sector. The new range of racks is especially designed to meet the needs of Canford’s core broadcast and systems integrator customer base and comes in multiple sizes with an extensive range of compatible accessories many of which are also manufactured by Canford.
