Helvar’s board of directors has named Hans Henrik Lund as its new CEO, commencing 16 September.
Lund has worked in several leadership positions in global companies for over 25 years, in all parts of the value chain. He spent 10 years with Danfoss in the field of heating automation and later on 10 years leading the mobile accessory companies Jabra and Nokia Gear.
“Hans Henrik has a deep experience in digital transformations and has lead businesses successfully. Helvar is a leader in a very exciting industry going through digital transformation, and I am confident that he has excellent prerequisites to be successful in his new position,” said Helvar’s chairman of the board Kai Öistämö.
"I'm excited to join the Helvar team to help grow the business. Lighting is a very dynamic industry and Helvar has evolved with the market to its current position as a leading supplier of superior lighting experiences, a solid platform for future growth. I have enjoyed meeting the Helvar board members and I'm now looking very much forward to engage with the entire Helvar team, customers and our partners to learn more about the business during the coming days and weeks," commented Lund.
Öistämö concluded: "Under almost 14 years of Asko Kallonen's leadership, Helvar has improved its profitability significantly and gone through a major transition. It is now one of the leading companies in LED components and intelligent lighting control systems. Asko leaves a strong foundation for Helvar to build on. We are happy that Asko will continue as advisor to the Helvar board. On behalf of the whole board, I thank Asko for his great contribution to the company."
