Hearing health specialist selects dBTechnologies loudspeakers

GAES hearing centres around Spain are being equipped with two K300 ultra-compact, two-way active speakers each, with a view to rolling out the dBTechnologies units to locations in other countries.

GAES hearing centres around Spain are being equipped with two K300 ultra-compact, two-way active speakers each, with a view to rolling out the dBTechnologies units to locations in other countries.

Large frequency response and optimum linearity were among the reasons for the selection of the K300s, which feature a 1” HF driver, digipro bi-amped digital power amp and integrated DSP.

The K300s are being used in ‘free field’ hearing tests, which are run by GAES professionals to help detect the existence of hearing problems and to determine what treatment is required.

“As new clinics are opened and older speakers need to renewed, the K300 is proving to be ideal for us,” said Carles González Soto, electro sales manager at GAES. “These speakers are [of] great quality, whilst being small enough to fit in the clinics.”

Raul Ablanque, technical consultant at dBTechnologies in Spain, added: “We have provided GAES with 42 K300 boxes already, and there are a further 500 laboratories which will need upgrading over the next two to three years.”

Michael Herweg, sales & marketing director of dBTechnologies, told IE: “It was an extremely pleasant surprise to find that the K300 fits so well into the high class installation market. It is great for live music in clubs and ideal as a fill speaker in niches and corners. We initially took K300 to be a typical musicians’ product: perfect for the entertainer who needs full sound delivered by an extremely compact box which is so easy to handle, so didn’t expect to sell quite so many into fixed installations!”
