Harman completes acquisition of Martin Professional

The deal was first announced in December last year, when Schouw & Co. - parent company of Martin Professional - agreed to the sale that was said at the time to presage a 'one stop shop' for the professional entertainment market.

Harman has completed its acquisition of Martin Professional of Denmark (see original story). According to Harman, the acquisition advances its capacity to serve customers in a wide variety of applications and geographic markets with the most advanced, highly integrated AV and lighting systems.

“As we move forward together and institute Martin Professional as a business unit within Harman Professional, our customers from both the lighting and AV disciplines will soon be able to capitalise on joint innovations, efficiencies and access to our systems portfolios,” said Blake Augsburger, Harman executive vice president and president of Harman Professional Division (pictured). “In doing so, I am confident we’ll also drive growth into emerging markets and vertical markets where digital technologies are increasingly central to the commercial enterprise — specifically transportation, hospitality, retail, communications and education.”

Most recently, the outdoor Martin LED lighting system was showcased during Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Martin luminaires have also recently been used for live performances by rock acts such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Coldplay as well as for the latest Broadway and West End musicals. Martin is in the process of launching new products across all of its product lines including new models in the MAC Viper family, as well as new creative LED video products, lighting control solutions, atmospheric smoke solutions and more.
