Two GefenPRO Extra Long Range Extenders with POL (Power Over Line) technology offer long distance signal delivery using one industry-standard CAT-5 or CAT-6 cable.
The new solutions will be among those highlighted by Gefen at ISE 2011, which takes place at the Amsterdam RAI in February.
Both of the new solutions extend HDMI at 1080p full HD with 3DTV, multi-channel audio, IR remote, RS-232 control and Ethernet 100BaseT up to 100 metres in distance. The use of POL technology eliminates external power requirements for the receiver unit. The receiver unit is not powered, while the internal power supply or AC 110/220v on the sender unit allows 48v 800mA to be transmitted with all video, audio, control and Ethernet signals on the same cable. Each receiver is also equipped with one 5v output to power supplemental Gefen hardware.
The GefenPRO Extra Long Range Extender for HDMI with POL sends HDMI at 1080p full HD with 3DTV pass-through, multi-channel audio, IR remote, RS-232 control and 100BaseT Ethernet over a single CAT-5/CAT-6 cable. All HDMI v1.3 features are supported, including deep colour, lip sync and audio delay. Both the IR backchannel and RS-232 connection on the receiver unit can be used to control the display from the remote location.
Full HDCP compliance and configurable EDID options further enhance performance. Any DVI monitor can be used in place of an HDMI display to expand the range of compatibility.
The second model, the GefenPRO Extra Long Range Extender for HDMI with POL II, offers the same features as the GefenPRO ELR for HDMI with POL, but with an alternative receiver unit that supplies one additional HDMI input.
