Gearing up to go green at SustainabilityAV

The IE/PSNE-presented online conference and exhibition will include presentations from NEC Display Solutions' Simon Jackson (pictured), among others.

The Installation Europe/Pro Sound News Europe-presented online conference/exhibition will include presentations from NEC Display Solutions’ Simon Jackson (pictured), among others.

The free-to-attend virtual conference will take place on 3 December 2010, with the full programme and speaker details now available at the dedicated website, www.sustainabilityav2010.com.

Across a host of presentations and interactive Q&As, the green-themed conference will demonstrate to attendees how they can run their businesses in a more environmentally-friendly way, manage budgets more effectively, and improve the marketing of green ethics and business practices to customers, stakeholders and peer groups.

The day will commence with a look at the creative solutions that manufacturers can apply in order to achieve green goals. The presentation will be delivered by Simon Jackson, vice-president of NEC Display Solutions Northern Europe, who told IE about the reasons for his participation: “NEC has a world-leading ECO display portfolio and a long established corporate commitment to responsible manufacturing. SustainabilityAV is a unique event representing a pioneering endeavour to promote the green agenda in the AV industry. We are delighted to have the opportunity to align ourselves with this wholly worthwhile event which directly reflects NEC’s own Green Vision. My presentation will be based upon how NEC have made a real tangible undertaking to develop green products based upon a commitment to sustainability and increased productivity.”

Elaborating on NEC Display Solutions’ own achievements in this area, Jackson said that the company had recently received recognition “for our efforts to meet our ambitious voluntary ecological commitments” from independent Swedish testing organisation TCO Development.

“Our projectors have received TCO Certification, confirming that they comply with binding ecological standards including stringent criteria for energy consumption and the use of product and packaging materials. The TCO Certification provides buyers with objective information for making purchasing decisions,” said Jackson.
