Focus 21 achieves UK’s first InfoComm triple certification

Focus 21 has become the first UK company to have three dual-certified professionals under the InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) programme.

Jim Harwood, MD and Kevin Bowman, technical design manager, both CTS-D qualified, join projects director Justin Paveley in achieving InfoComm’s highest honour with the addition of the CTS-I accreditation.

Focus 21 has been a Diamond Certified AV Solutions Provider with InfoComm since 2005 and last year became the UK’s first AV Provider of Excellence (APEx). This recognises professionalism and commitment to ongoing training, customer service and dedication to upholding the highest of standards in the AV industry.

Jim Harwood CTS-D, CTS-I, managing director of Focus 21 explained: “These two achievements mean that 50% of our shareholders are dual certified professionals, similarly so are 50% of our board of directors and 30% of the management team. To say there was pressure going into these exams is an understatement but I’m extremely proud of Justin, Kevin and myself for passing, we’re now passing the baton to the rest of the team to follow suit!”

“The status of CTS as the only AV industry certification accredited to ISO/IEC 17024 makes our program uniquely useful to European companies wanting to prove their experience and commitment to quality to their customers,” said Pamela Taggart, senior director of development Europe, InfoComm International.
