The newly developed racecourse in Ahal Province, Turkmenistan, features an installation of more than 130 loudspeakers by Electro-Voice and Dynacord distributor Atempo.

The installation – which features an evacuation system – covers zones including the racetrack, the VIP area and training grounds, as well as covered and uncovered grandstands – each of which has precise individual sound reinforcement requirements.

To handle the necessary audio duties, Atempo specified more than 130 Electro-Voice loudspeakers. Grandstand audio is provided by four line arrays – comprising 16 Electro-Voice XLC-127DVXs, eight XLC-215 subwoofers and 16 ZX-5/90 loudspeakers, driven by nine CSP4.10 and two CPS8.5 amplifiers, with power from two Dx46s – while the VIP area is handled by eight powered EV ZXA1 systems. Training and warm areas are home to eight waterproof EV ZX5/90PI loudspeakers, driven by two Q1212 amplifiers, while the evacuation system features 58 Electro-Voice EVID C4.2D ceiling loudspeakers and 11 EVID 4.2T surface mount speakers, driven by Dynacord amplifiers. The commentary and announcements are captured by an extensive collection of Electro-Voice microphones, including PolarChoice Desktop 18, RE-2-N2/D (wireless) and PL-24 models.

The new facility is said to represent the largest equestrian centre in the whole of Turkmenistan.
