HD audio solutions and audio post processing technologies developer DTS has made its Play-Fi wireless audio streaming solution compatible with Apple’s iOS through a new free app.
Users can stream music from iTunes, access all of their existing playlists and even stream popular music services such as Pandora by downloading the new DTS Play-Fi iOS app.
DTS Play-Fi is now the first licensable whole-home audio technology capable of streaming lossless, high-quality audio from iOS and Android devices, as well as Windows PCs, to multiple rooms, from multiple users, simultaneously using standard Wi-Fi.
“With the resurgence of home audio happening today, we are seeing growing demand for a wireless audio solution that works across all platforms,” said Brian Towne, executive vice president and chief operating officer, DTS. “Expanding Play-Fi’s compatibility to now include the two leading mobile platforms provides DTS a much stronger platform to reach more consumers.”
Unlike single speaker wireless solutions, DTS’ Play-Fi gives users full control of an entire network of speakers in the home. Users can set up, link, and stream audio to one Play-Fi enabled speaker or multiple speakers throughout the home at once.
