Jason Dear has been appointed to the role of managing director of D&M Consumer, which is a division of D&M Audiovisual.

With effect from 1 April, Dear will oversee the consumer sales teams for the Denon, Marantz and Boston Acoustics brands in the UK. Having joined D&M Audiovisual Ltd in 2007, Dear went on serve as general manager of Marantz UK.

In a further change, Richard Goodall has left D&M Audiovisual as of the beginning of this week.

Terry O’Connell, president sales & marketing for D&M Europe, commented: “We are extremely grateful to Richard for his contribution to D&M and specifically to the Denon brand throughout the last three years. Richard played a key role in the successful transition of the back-office function to Belfast and he has skilfully led Denon through an extremely challenging economic climate. This organisational change helps us stay competitive in the market, but we will all miss Richard and he leaves with our best wishes. I personally wish to thank him for magnanimously providing his full support during the transition towards the new set-up.”

Regarding the new role for Dear, O’Connell remarked: “Jason possesses a wealth of knowledge of this sector, and adds inexhaustible enthusiasm and total commitment to the success and wellbeing of his team and the overall business.”

Dear himself added: “Within an incredibly competitive field, Denon, Marantz and Boston Acoustics have always stood out as the finest hi-fi and home cinema electronics manufacturers, with their products commanding a class-leading combination of remarkable sound quality, great build, and impressive engineering. Great opportunities exist to capitalise on these special brands and expand further into new and exciting markets”.
