Crestron focuses on functionality at CEDIA HTE

Last month’s CEDIA HTE show saw Crestron highlight products from across its range. Specific solutions on display included Prodigy, which enables simplified home and entertainment control from any room in the house or ‘any place on the planet’; the new small footprint/slim profile Cameo keypads, also part of the Prodigy range; Crestron Sonnex, which allows the distribution of 64 channels of uncompressed 24-bit HD audio across a single-shielded Cat5 cable; DigitalMedia 8G+, the next generation of Crestron’s high-output, one-wire digital AV network technology; various Crestron lighting solutions; and the Crestron MC3 control system with all-new Core 3 control engine.

Away from the showfloor, the company announced the winners of the 2011 Crestron Residential Integration Awards during an event at the Novotel Hotel in London’s Docklands, close to the CEDIA HTE venue of ExCeL. The principal judge for these awards was Crestron International’s VP of sales and marketing, Robin van Meeuwen.

Intuitive Homes’ Stephen Nevison was among those to express delight at their awards success. “To win a Crestron award is a fantastic achievement and our whole team is delighted that their hard work has been acknowledged in this way,” he said. “Our top priority is to make sure our clients love the system we provide, but also to get the recognition from an industry leader like Crestron is the icing on the cake.”

Petra van Meeuwen highlighted the “extremely challenging” nature of the selection process and the many examples of “high quality workmanship”. “It was a difficult task to select the winners,” she admitted, “but very enjoyable as got to see some really fabulous examples of true Crestron integration. Our integrators are involved in such a wide variety of projects using Crestron technology, often with innovative and exciting designs, so the Awards are a fantastic way of recognising their achievements and reward their hard work. Congratulations to all our winners and a massive thank you to all who entered.”
