Crestron appoints EMEA training manager

Crestron is looking to harmonise its training offering throughout the locations in which it operates. Michael Backler has the responsibility for making it happen.

Crestron has appointed Michael Backler to the newly created position of Corporate EMEA Training and CAIP Manager.

Working out of Creston UK’s office in Cobham, Backler’s new role will see him liaising closely with Crestron’s American contingent to establish brand standards in training across the international regions and relay them to the EMEA.

Backler’s experience as Crestron’s head of training in the UK made him the perfect candidate for this new role, according to the company. In the last 10 years, he has assisted in the training of over 1,000 accredited integrators, and has been instrumental in Crestron’s training initiatives to date; Backler is already fully certified in both RoomView and DigitalMedia, having helped establish the existing training programmes for both.

“My aim in the new role is to combine the many talents and strengths of my colleagues across the EMEA region to develop solid, unified training courses that are in line with the US programmes. This will include taking into consideration the nuances of our specific region and the types of products and projects that are undertaken here,” said Backler (pictured). “Essentially, I am going to act as a conduit for ideas from our EMEA trainers and as courses are developed, I will offer EMEA representation so that all our courses are relevant, open and exciting for everyone, while ensuring that the core themes of every training agenda are met.”

“A central theme of the Crestron brand is reliability and consistency and with new offices and design and experience centres opening across the globe and many more Crestron dealers also being established internationally, it is important for us to maintain this,” said Robin van Meeuwen, VP of Creston International. “Michael’s new role will achieve greater consistency across our training programmes in the EMEA region, ensuring that all Crestron accredited integrators maintain a high standard of knowledge when it comes to installing, programming, and maintaining Crestron systems.”
