Coolux enables interactive trade show presence

Attracting the attention of blasé consumers is a constant challenge, especially at trade shows. Designing an interactive experience that directly engages them can be very powerful - if you have the tools to enable it.

Zug, one of the Swiss cantons, presented itself at this year’s MUBA exhibition/trade show – an event aimed at a broad audience from consumers to international trade buyers – with an impressive multimedia installation. Visitors to the Zug stand encountered two semi-circular 180° projection screens with panoramic film content showing the canton’s beautiful scenery.

In order to truly attract the visitors’ interest, eight pressure sensors were hidden underneath the floor. Each time a visitor stepped on one of the eight sensor spots, one of the characters projected onto the screen started to talk to them. The sound was played out through transparent, bell shaped speaker-constructions hanging from the ceiling, allowing for a maximum of sound quality without distracting the other visitors’ interactive experience in any way.

Four coolux Pandoras Box Server STD were at the technical heart of the installation, with the coolux Widget Designer PRO allowing for a seamless integration of all interactive elements. A Sonic Emotion HD Player was controlled directly through the Pandoras Box Manager by means of its built-in Sonic Emotion extension.
