As ETC continues to expand in Europe, the lighting, dimming and control manufacturer has recently made changes to its marketing management roles in Europe.
Sarah Clausen, who has served ETC as a controls product manager since 2004, is now the market manager for ETC GmbH. In this position, Clausen expands her focus to the full range of ETC products being sold in the German, Austrian, Swiss and Eastern European markets. She is responsible for developing market strategies and coordinating product needs and feedback from customers and dealers.
In her new role at ETC GmbH, Clausen will work closely with ETC European promotions and advertising manager Rosi Marx to plan product launches and promotions. She will also retain her responsibilities as product manager for the Congo and SmartFade control product lines.
Erik Larsen, who has been ETC’s market manager for Europe since 2001, will now focus his efforts exclusively on the territories served by ETC Ltd in the UK. Larsen has been part of ETC since 1999, following two decades of theatrical work as an electrician and lighting technician.
Like Larsen, Clausen’s background includes many years in the performing arts, with a focus on lighting design. She built control desks in ETC’s manufacturing department for several years and then spent time training technicians at VariLite. Clausen returned to ETC as a technical writer in 2002 and was soon promoted to be controls product manager. She is an accomplished lighting desk programmer, recently programming Congos for the exterior lighting of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. In 2010, Clausen relocated from ETC’s American headquarters in Middleton, Wisconsin, to work in the GmbH office in Holzkirchen, near Munich, Germany.
“I look forward to the opportunity to work more closely with Erik and Rosi to expand ETC’s presence in the European marketplace,” said Clausen (pictured). “Feedback is so important to what we do in product management, and I’m very happy to be able to help my colleagues communicate better with our existing and new ETC customers so that we can continue to create excellent products for them.”
