Christie and AccessIT confirm supply deal

Resembling a neural network, Genexis features an external interactive light show programmed to synch with night-time activity inside the complex.

The construction of Genexis drew on the expertise of global design, engineering and consultancy firm Arup. The company provided a range of services using consultants from the US, UK and Australia.

Among the many striking features of the Genexis space is the installation of more than 400,000 mahogany beads on the 440-seat theatre’s curved walls, specified to help achieve the desired acoustic.

The vast Fusionopolis complex also incorporates studios, ‘business incubators’, residential developments, and recreational and retail facilities.

Arup’s regional acoustics leader, Andrew Nicol, told II: “Fusionopolis is a striking new addition to the Singapore skyline. It breaks all the rules of conventional design and will provide a creative and intellectual hub for Singapore’s best and brightest.”
