Following on from its popular Swiss launch event last month, CEDIA Region 1 held a diverse, high quality training day for custom installation companies, attracting 23 installers who booked a total of 42 sessions.

The training is an important part of CEDIA’s Region 1 development programme and was spearheaded by CEDIA’s international board member, Raphael Oberholzer (pictured), who works for Swiss-based ESP (Electronic Systems Professional) member, Smart Home SA, and Bernhard H¸essy from CEDIA trade supplier member, Genesis-Technologies.

Raphael and Bernhard have been key in developing awareness of the CEDIA in Switzerland and presented an introductory course on project management at the event. ‘IP for Residential Integrators’ also featured as a hot topic, with other courses ‘Electrical and Electronic Theory and Application’, ‘Component Installation’ and ‘Multiroom Audio/Video Distribution Systems’ all proving popular. All training courses on the day were presented in German.

“Switzerland is a rapidly growing market for home automation and electronic systems integration” says Wendy Griffiths, executive director of CEDIA Region 1. “High quality training is the key to developing this residential sector successfully in the future. We will be using these two successful events to build a platform for further education and market growth in the future.”
