Genesis Technologies’ Neil Davidson will lead a workshop aimed at those who are already installing simple home cinema systems and wish to take their design and sales skills to the next level.

The two-day workshop-style course will take place in Bracknell, Berkshire, on 22/23 November. While costs do not include accommodation, attendees will receive a free copy of both the CEDIA Home Cinema Video and Audio Recommended Practice documents. In addition, Genesis Technologies will offer course participants £500 of the purchase of either a projector or 5.1 system on course completion.

Topics to be covered included during the two days include: correct speaker positioning; sub positioning techniques for even bass frequency response across the listening area; amplifier power calculation; calculation of room reverberation time and application of acoustic treatments; anamorphic projection techniques and screen technologies; integration of high-performance gaming and future gaming technologies; specification of correct screen size and projector brightness for the room and viewing position; selection of the right seating solution; and documentation and drawing.

The course is described as excellent preparation towards studying for the CEDIA Designer Level One Certification exam, and is also suitable for existing Designer Level One certified individuals who wish to study for the Home Cinema Design Specialist exam.

A maximum of 16 places are available on the course, which will take place from 09.30 to 18.00. Prices are £371.46 (incl VAT) for members, and £519.66 inc VAT for non-members. Full details will be distributed via email the week before the course takes place.
