CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has announced that 13 installers have successfully completed its two-day Technical Foundation Course which took place at the St Neots training facility on 23-24 April.

Developed to meet demand for a technical introduction to the residential custom electronics industry, the course puts the industry into perspective for delegates and provides a clear idea about potential career paths in the industry. It also acts as a technical grounding for higher level CEDIA courses, making it an ideal first step towards studying for CEDIA Installer Level 1 certification.

Delegates who completed the mixed classroom and practical-based course included staff from Audio Visual Systems, Advanced New Technologies, Martin Kleiser, Audiovision, and Bang & Olufsen (Ireland).

“As more people enter the industry to fulfil the growing demand for residential custom electronic systems, it is vital that we provide the training and information to allow them to do it safely and professionally” says Peter Aylett, Education Manager at CEDIA. “This course provides an excellent foundation, and will be run more frequently in the future as expansion in the sector continues.”
